It is said that travel teaches us to look at the world in new ways, to see things differently than we do in our everyday lives.
Well, that is IF we leave behind our biases and preconceived ideas about what we expect to see and experience and stay open to what comes our way.
I believe that when we travel, we grow. We change. We become more in tune with the universe and our place in it.
I believe creating is the same. The more we create, the more open and creative our minds become.
If we leave behind our ideas of what things should be and open our hearts and minds to what could be, we are often presented with wonderful opportunities.
Case in point:
This morning I was buttering my toast and I noticed that the bread was shaped like a cloud.
Now, I have buttered this same kind of toast many times, on many mornings. But, lately I have been really focused on repurposing opportunities – turning something with one purpose into something with a new or different purpose. You could say I’ve been exercising my creative muscles.
Well, my “creative brain” kicked into gear and thought about the possibilities.
The next thing I knew, I was taking this

See moms, it is ok to let your kids play with their food (even if we were told not to by our moms).
Not only did I have fun with this little morning experiment, but it got me to thinking about other food “stamps” I could create and use. Stay tuned!
