Last Wednesday I flew to Charlotte, NC to visit the site of our upcoming retreat and work out the final details of the event with the venue staff.
I also took a road trip – well, three road trips to be more precise – all around both North and South Carolina.
The purpose of the road trips?
To visit as many local scrapbook (LSS), stamp (RSS) and papercraft (PC) stores as I could in three days.
The list included 15 stores (there were a few more than that, but I knew I couldn’t hit them all in the time I had available).
My goals for visiting all of those stores?
To see what each had to offer; to meet the owners and learn what led them to owning an LSS, RSS or PC; to see how I might assist them in gaining more customers; and of course, to share the news of our upcoming retreat. Oh yeah, and to find some new treasures!
I left each store a little poorer in the wallet and a lot richer in my knowledge. I left having learned about some unique products and having seen the latest and greatest from many of my favorite manufacturers. And, I made some new friends along the way.
Total miles driven: 772
Total stores visited: 11
Total experience: Priceless!
